Salamander lizard gecko ring

Lovely salamander smooth ring whose body encircles the finger. This jewel has a nice thickness of silver that gives this salamander very good fastness.
This is François 1er which put the salamander on all shields, armoieries and in most decors castles where she was usually depicted sitting amid the flames and spitting drops of water or crowned. The salamander was supposed to extinguish the fire and ill take good strength. We can draw a parallel with ermine, which at the time was the favorite animal of the wife of François 1er, Queen Claude of France.
