The Star of David (or maguen Maghen Dawid , literally " Shield of David ") is the symbol of Judaism
It is composed of two equilateral triangles : one directed upwards and the other downwards.
Today , it is found particularly in the State of Israel and in synagogues around the world.
Until the fifteenth century , the Star of David or (Seal of Solomon ) was a magical protective symbol represented on amulets .
It only became the representation of Judaism, as is the Latin cross in Christianity , after the expulsion of Jews from Spain in the fifteenth century, with the development of printing.
It is , according to Jewish tradition , the emblem of King David and the Messiah.
For the Pharisees and the teachers of the Torah the six-pointed star symbolizes the six days of the week, the seventh day , the rest of the divine , was symbolized by the center of the star ( the Sabbath . ) This is somehow a representation of the fullness of the number seven , a figure that is sacred to many.
Initially and until 1915 , the flag of Morocco was adorned with the six-pointed star of the Seal of Solomon .
The 6-pointed star is also used in Hinduism, it is the creator gods or Hindu trinity

This 925 sterling silver pendant represents a 6 pointed star completely smooth, it is not too big to wear his religion in any discretion .
( Be careful not to confuse the pentacle and the Star of David ... the pentagram with 5 branches while maguen David has 6 !)
